Anelectronicnosewasusedforthedetectionofmaizeoiladulterationincamelliaseed oilandsesameoil.Theresultsofm*riateanalysisofvarianceshowedthatthe sensorsignalsofdifferentkindsofoilaresignificantlydifferentfromeachother.Prin- cipalcomponentanalysisPCAcannotbeusedtodiscriminatetheadulterationof camelliaseedoil,butcanbeusedinthediscriminationofadulterationinsesameoil. LineardiscriminantanalysisLDAismoreeffectivethanPCAandcanbeusedin adulterationdiscriminationforbothcamelliaseedoilandsesameoil.Inordertocheck thediscriminativepowerofLDA,canonicaldiscriminantanalysiswasperformedas well.Acceptableresultswerealsoobtained:Theaccuracyofpredictionwas83.6%for camelliaseedoiland94.5%forsesameoil.TheartificialneuralnetworkANNmodel wasusedtodetectthepercentageofadulterationincamelliaseedoilandsesameoil. Theresultsshowedthat,basedonANNasitspatternrecognitiontechnique,theelec- tronicnosecannotpredictthepercentageofadulterationincamelliaseedoil,butcan beusedinthequantitativedeterminationofadulterationinsesameoil. |
